Building bridges in changing markets

Dear Reader,

This expression perfectly encapsulates the work being done by Hessen Trade & Invest this year. While import tariffs, protectionism and Brexit have impacted global trade and caused companies to hold their breath, our explicit aim has been to strengthen our existing relationships and build new bridges. For this reason, we have been providing a wealth of services to various organizations, both domestic and international, to ensure that they make the most of our region’s world-class business environment and are able to constantly grow.

Hoping to keep building effective bridges to and with our partners, we look forward to meeting you personally in the year to come. Please have a look at the section “Hessen on tour” to find out in which locations you can find us. You are, of course, also more than welcome to visit us at our home in Hessen at any time. Perhaps you will even be able to discover why, according to the findings of a recent study, the residents of Hessen are happier than ever before. Germany’s annual “Happiness Atlas” gave our federal state one of the highest rankings in its measure for happiness.

I am confident that the next year will also hold many positive developments for the state of Hessen. At Hessen Trade & Invest, we are putting in our full effort and are already working on numerous projects that hold great promise.

Happy holidays to all and a great start to the new year in 2020!

Best regards,

Dr. Rainer Waldschmidt
