Dear Reader,

Hessen’s pronounced forward thinking mindset has been recognized by recent digitalization studies and has even set a new world record.

A study conducted by Deloitte aimed at identifying the German cities at the forefront of the digital industry and those best prepared for the digital future included a top 10 list featuring the Hessian cities of Darmstadt and Frankfurt. Both cities also earned top spots on IW Consult’s list of Germany’s most digital companies, with Frankfurt rated as the clear frontrunner and Darmstadt securing the fourth spot.

Hessen has also demonstrated its considerable innovative prowess regarding mobility issues. The central German state’s 2022/2023 mobility upgrade will showcase 27 trains powered by fuel cells, which will mark the world’s largest fuel cell powered fleet.

In addition to the aforementioned topics, this newsletter examines the most important issue of all pertaining to the future, which is undoubtedly education. The newsletter also sheds light on the thoughts of Messe Frankfurt’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Wolfgang Marzin, about Frankfurt as a business location and his company’s international positioning.

Enjoy the reading!
